Basically the solution examples that were described for the Ethernet-to-OEM solutions (E2O) also apply here. But instead of using a wired ethernet link a wireless GSM connection (GSM data or GPRS) used for connecting the device to a PC or server. Again HTTP, telnet, e-mail and FTP are the most common connection types at the network side. Another solution example is SMS based alarming and remote control. The G20 solution functions as a watchdog that monitors a number of analog and/or digital inputs. If one of these input exceeds acceptable values, then an alarm is generated and reported to a service center using an SMS message. An optional SMS return path can also be implemented where the service center can issue commands to the device or retrieve additional information from the device using SMS.
