Serial-to-OEM solutions (S2O)

 

 

Basically the solution examples that were described for the Ethernet-to-OEM solutions (E2O) also apply here. But instead of using an ethernet link a direct serial link with PPP or SLIP is used for connecting the device to a PC or server.

Another solution example is the protocol conversion between OEM device and RS232 or RS485. For example for enabling attachment of the device to a RS485 network.
